ST, CLOUD NEWS—Be a part of the 250th Fourth celebration

4th on the Lake, the City of St. Cloud’s Independence Day celebration takes place on Saturday July 4th from 4-9:30 p.m. at St. Cloud Lakefront Park. This afternoon and evening of patriotic family fun celebrates America’s 250th birthday. Enjoy live music from Modern Ties, live performances from Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, Sami’s kid’s zone, vendors, food, drinks, glow in the dark putt-putt, volleyball, yard games, a hot dog eating contest, ice cream eating contest and an extended fireworks show starting at 9:15 p.m. The City is looking for vendors to join one of the largest events of the year. This is an opportunity for local businesses, non-profits and organizations to connect with thousands of attendees with this evening filled with family fun, entertainment, food and fireworks. All vendors receive a 10 x 10 space. Arts and crafts and non-profit vendor spaces are $100. Merchandise/ information vendor space is $300. There will also be a car show at the St. Cloud Lakefront. Registrations are now being accepted for the All-American Car Show, open to all makes and models. Awards will be given for Best in Show, Most Patriotic, Kid’s Choice and People’s Choice. Space is limited. Registrations will be accepted on a first come-first served basis. Stop at the Library on Thursday, June 25 from 6-7 p.m. for Bits ’N Pieces Puppet Theater. Jerry Bickel will bring the classic adventure tale of Rumpelstiltskin to live with the one-man puppet show.

You can cool down with 2 movies at the Library this week. Enjoy an afternoon under the stars with these campy cinema favorites. Land Before Time will be shown on Thursday, June 25 from 2-4 p.m., then come back on Tuesday, June 30 from 2-4 p.m. for the Family Movie Matinee: An American Tail. The program continues after the film with a Mousekewitz bookmark craft activity.

Bingo for Books: Dino Edition takes place on Tuesday, June 30 from 6-7 p.m. Find out how lucky you are when you win Bingo and great books! This time with extra roars and dinosaurs!

All Library programs are free and open to the public. The St. Cloud Library is located at 810 13th St.

 

Speaking of movies, the City of St. Cloud’s Movie in the Park will be shown on Friday, June 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the St. Cloud Lakefront. Bring a chair and blanket and come see National Treasure.

 

Tropical Salsa Jazz in the Garden takes place on Friday, June 26 from 6-9 p.m. at Hunters Arms Hotel, 1029 New York Ave. Enjoy an evening of music, dancing, tropical drinks and community connections. For more information, contact Julie Aldea at 407928- 7534.
