Kissimmee man involved, injured in early Monday Turkey Lake Road crash

A 27-year-old Kissimmee man was injured in a early Monday morning crash in southwest Orlando when another car speeding crashed into him, Florida Highway Patrol reports.

The incident occurred just before 1:30 a.m. on Turkey Lake Road just south of Sand Lake Road and Universal Studios in southwest Orange County. Troopers say a 36-year-old man was traveling southbound and driving his Audi RS 5 above the posted speed limit when he lost control and sideswiped the Kissimmee man's Toyota Camry, which was also headed southbound. The crash report states the Audi then ran onto the shoulder and overturned several times, becoming engulfed in flames. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased on scene. The Kissimmee man was transported to Dr. Phillips Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash closed Turkey Lake Road well into the morning rush hour commute.

The crash remains under investigation, FHP reports.
