The Osceola County Supervisor of Elections office is warning residents about a potential scam regarding text messages about their voter registration.
The SOE says it has not sent out any text messages recently, and that residents who receive messages claiming issues with their voter registration should not click on any links in them.
“This link did not originate in our office and the seal in the text is unfamiliar to us,” SOE Digital Marketing and Media Coordinator Caroline Elliott said in an email Thursday. “These messages appear to be fraudulent and could be intended for identity theft.”
Any questions or concerns about voter registration can be directed to the SOE website (www.voteosceola.gov) or by calling the office at 407-742-6000.
