St. Cloud welcomes Jabarie Walker as new Assistant City Manager

Jabarie Walker has been named as St. Cloud's new Assistant City Manager, the city announced late Tuesday.

Walker, who comes to the city from roles with the city of New Orleans, will assist the City Manager’s office with oversight of the city’s strategic initiatives and developing the city’s legislative agenda, city officials said.

According to his bio, Walker spent three years as deputy chief of staff for the City of New Orleans, where he was tasked to improve and expedite the implementation of priorities determined by Mayor LaToya Cantrell, and most recently worked as chief of staff for the Housing Authority of New Orleans. He attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and was mentioned as a candidate for a U.S. Senate seat from Louisiana earlier this year before heading to Osceola County.

Walker joins City Manager Veronica Miller and Deputy City Manager Scott Davidoff.

“We are excited to have Jabarie join our team,” Miller said. “He is skilled at building relationships with elected officials, community leaders, business groups and non-profit organizations. He also has experience leading state and local advocacy efforts, and we are confident his skills will help the city continue moving forward.”
