ST. CLOUD NEWS — Plant yourself at Peghorn Park, or the Monthly Market

The City of St. Cloud’s Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area and Pine Lily Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society is hosting Weed Wrangle 2026 at Peghorn Nature Park on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 9-11 a.m. They will be removing/cutting back assorted non-native invasive plants, particularly Air Potato.

Scouts and students can get volunteer hours for participating. To participate wear comfortable clothes that you can get dirty, closed toe shoes/boots, sunscreen, sunglasses, hats and insect repellent. Bring water and a snack! Gardening gloves will be provided. The next Downtown Monthly market takes place on Wednesday, Feb. 25 from 5-9 p.m. String lights twinkle overhead with makers and bakers and music filling the air at this community celebration. The Monthly Market is always the last Wednesday of the month, rain or shine. The Harmony Community Market takes place on the last Sunday of each month, which means the next market is set for Sunday, Feb. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Harmony Town Square, 7254 Five Oaks Dr. You will shop local vendors— hand made goods, treats and services. St. Cloud Main Street and Granny’s Southern Smokehouse presents Roots & Rhythm Festival on Saturday, Feb. 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 9th and Pennsylvania Avenue, in celebration of Black History Month. There will be live entertainment, food trucks, vendors and a car show. Food trucks and vendor spots are $50 each and fill up quickly—reserve early. OTECH St. Cloud will host an information night Wednesday, Feb. 25 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. for students who want hands on training and career paths. Tour the campus, meet instructors and current students, talk with financial aid and admissions and start your application and financial aid package. Programs include building construction, cosmetology, dental assistant, diesel, medical assistant and pharmacy technician.

 

R.I.S.E. Up Osceola: READ Bus will be at the St. Cloud Library on Thursday, Feb. 19 for children ages 3-4. This Osceola School District’s Special Programs Department is bringing their READ Bus, a renovated yellow school bus with an interior that resembles a mini pre-K classroom will be onsite. There will be 2 times for this event—9:15 a.m. and 10 a.m.

 

The Mom Community meets on Thursday, Feb. 19 from 6-8 p.m. at the Library. It’s for every Mom from her first pregnancy through her last child finishing kindergarten. The MomCo group offers community and encouragement. The meetings include practical teaching through speakers, demonstrations and videos.

 

Gardening Series: Vegetable Garden Maintenance and Care will be presented on Monday, Feb. 23 from 10-11 a.m. Learn essential techniques for maintaining and caring for a healthy vegetable garden including pest identification and harvest principles. Stick around from 11 a.m. to noon and meet the Garden Expert. Enhance your gardening skills with the support of University of Florida/IFAS master gardener volunteers. This team will assist you with your gardening questions.

Zumbini happens at the Library on Wednesday, Feb. 25 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon for those up to 4 years old. Sing, dance and play while developing your little ones’ social, cognitive, emotional and motor skills. Zumbini combines music and movement to create a fun bonding experience. Paint Me a Story! Youth 6-11 will read a story and families will paint a piece of art that is meaningful to that story. February’s featured artist: Faith Ringgold and Story Quilt Art. This program will be in celebration of Black History Month. The art includes assembling quilt squares and embellished with beads, ribbon, lace or buttons to create a one of a kind quilt story.

The St. Cloud Library is located at 810 13th St. All Library programs are free and open to the public.

 

Meet Me at the Market Narcoossee, a place to shop and connect with the community, takes place on Sunday, Mar. 1 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Narcoossee Community Park, 5354 Rambling Rd. Vendors include arts and crafts, pet supplies, bread, flash tattoos, plants and food vendors. This local outdoor market is family friendly and is the first Meet Me at the Market event.
