ST. CLOUD NEWS — Who wants to wait? It’s Friday Fun-day in the Cloud

Florida Lt. Governor Jay Collins will join the opening ceremony of the Second Annual Clays Classic for Veterans on Friday, Nov. 21, at the Triple N Shooting Range (595 Donovan Road, St. Cloud) which benefits McCormick Research Institute. Support local veterans while enjoying a fun filled day in the outdoors. Registration is at 8 a.m. with the shotgun start at 9 a.m. This is a 74-bird course, provide your ammo and gun. Also Friday, the Turkey Trot Homeschool Edition is at 11 a.m. at the St. Cloud Civic Center. Get ready to move! This fun-filled event for children ages 5-14 includes relays, games, food and excitement. The fee is $15 for City residents and $20 for non-City residents.

 

Homeschool Friendsgiving, an event by EXX Animo Creations takes place Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 1031 Exchange Pl., Unit 105. The day includes painting materials, instruction, pizza, snacks and crafts. The fee is $50 per person.

 

The City of St. Cloud will hold Fall Day Camp Nov. 24-26 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the St. Cloud Civic Center for children ages 5-12. Meet the Garden Expert at the St. Cloud Library on Monday, Nov. 24 from 1011 a.m. Enhance your skills with the support University of Florida/IFAS Master Gardner Volunteers. Stick around from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for Gardening Series: Rain Garden. Discover how to design, install and maintain a rain garden, a sustainable landscaping feature that helps manage storm water runoff. Zumbini, a fun, sing, dance and play together activity for children up to age 4 is Wednesday, Nov. 26 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Develop your little ones’ social, cognitive, emotional and motor skills with Zumbini, which combines music and movement to create a bonding experience. Adult participation and dancing is required.

 

Starry Night, a public event at Sunbridge (6137 Cyrills Dr.), takes place on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 4 p.m. This is a night of festive cheer, twinkling lights and winter wonder. There will be festive market shops, food trucks, live music and entertainment, a kids’ zone, snowfall and a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus. This holiday event is part of the community holiday tree lighting ceremony.

 

Confession of the Hand’s 7th annual Blessing Baskets Food Drive runs through Sunday, Dec. 14. They collect non-perishable foods for families in need within our local schools. These Blessing Bags will go home with these families to have meals over winter break. The following items are being collected: canned green beans, canned corn, canned gray, canned yams, beans, white rice, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, instant rice, pasta side dish, corn bread, dinner rolls, canned ham and desserts, gift cards for turkey will also be collected.

Items can be dropped off at Confession of the hand (59 13th St.), the UPS store at U.S. 192 and Narcoossee Road, Canoe Creek Sports Tavern, (2911 Canoe Creek Road), Terracotta Baker ( 53 13th St.) and the American Legion Post 80 (1019 Pennsylvania Ave.)

 

Small Business Saturday is Nov. 29. Join St. Cloud Main Street on New York Avenue at 9 a.m. for a morning of shopping, dining and community fun. Enjoy a free breakfast for the first 100 guests provided by Jimmy Bears BBQ and 10th Street Produce and Deli. There will also be 15% off from participating downtown St. Cloud merchants.
