Your guide to Veteran’s Day events

Veterans Day is on Tuesday, so celebrate at one of these Osceola County events.

From moving parades to volunteer opportunities and special ceremonies, this year’s lineup promises a full schedule of ways to say, “Thank you” to those who have served our country, making the lead-up to Veteran’s Day a crucial time for reflection and community engagement.

Association of Poinciana Villages Ceremony: Takes place on Friday, Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. at Poinciana Veteran Memorial Park. This event will feature a Presentation of Colors performed by the Polk County Sheriff ’s Honor Guard followed by guest speakers who will pay tribute. APV will present each attending member of the military with a recognition pin, expressing gratitude and sacrifice. This event will be followed by a picnic lunch of hot dogs, chips and drink.

Veteran’s Day St. Cloud First Responders 5k Ruck: Join the St. Cloud community and First Responders for a 5k Ruck at the Downtown St. Cloud VFW on Saturday Nov. 8 at 9 a.m. Honor our veterans and support a great cause as all proceeds go to local veterans.

City of Kissimmee Veterans Day Parade: Honor those who served on Nov. 8 at 10 a.m. as the Osceola Veterans Council hosts its annual Veterans Day Parade through Historic Downtown Kissimmee, featuring military units, community groups, and schools saluting our heroes. This cherished community tradition honors the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Groups wishing to participate can register at kissimmee.gov/veteransday.

City of Kissimmee Dinner with a Veteran: Residents and the City of Kissimmee Government invite the public to bring a veteran to a patriotic Dinner with a Veteran at the Chambers Park Community Center on Nov. 8 from 5-7 p.m. to enjoy a free dinner and networking in appreciation of those who have served our country.

Soldier City Sunday: The City of St. Cloud is launching Soldier City Sundays, a new weekly community market and veterans resource event. The first will be at Veteran’s Park on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 120113th St. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It features free admission, local vendors, and live entertainment to celebrate St. Cloud’s “Soldier City” heritage.

4th Annual Veterans Appreciation Day Ceremony: Join the Osceola County Sheriff ’s Department for on Wednesday, Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the McCormick Research Institute (4651 Rummell Road). RSVP by Thursday, Nov. 6 to D/S Emil Mendez at outreach@osceola sheriff.org.
