Shine and Rise (To Run) at NeoCity for the first time

Event raised funds for Help Now Osceola and End Polio Now

NeoCity was alive with runners and the spirit of giving at the inaugural Rotary Club of Kissimmee West Rise & Run 5K. The event benefitted Help Now Osceola in its efforts to defeat domestic violence during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and End Polio Now programs during the week of World Polio Day.

The News-Gazette was one of a number of sponsors. Ben Smith, Johnny Viloria and Michael Pierson led the way among male runners, and Gabriella Carrion, Karina Statioto and Beth Jeck were the top female finishers. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office had the largest team, and the Rise & Run Podcast Team earned the Most Spirited Team.
