Osceola County Sheriff's deputies are still trying to identify the suspect and vehicle involved in a suspected road rage incident Tuesday afternoon in Poinciana.
The incident happened around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Cypress Parkway and Marigold Avenue, close to HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital, where deputies were dispatched, a Sheriff's spokesperson said.
Deputies observed a black Ford Expedition at the hospital with a number of bullet holes; the right rear passenger window was shot out and the front right window damaged. Deputies said two male occupants, the 40-year-old driver and his cousin, 39, were being treated for gunshot wounds at the hospital. Deputies say the driver received a grazing injury from a bullet, while his cousin was shot in the face. The driver was treated and released and the passenger was airlifted to Osceola Regional and is listed in stable condition.
It was all caused by a road rage incident, the Sheriff's Office said, involving the victim's vehicle and the suspect vehicle on Cypress Parkway. The two came to a stop, and the suspect approached the victim's car and began yelling at the victim driver, who had also exited his vehicle.
After the suspect threatened the victim with a firearm, the victim returned to his vehicle and continued driving on Cypress Parkway then turned onto Marigold Avenue. At that point police say the suspect fired shots towards the Expedition.
As of late Tuesday night Sheriff's detectives were still working to identify the suspect and their vehicle. Anyone with information about this incident can contact the Osceola County Sheriff's Office at 407-348-2222.
