Davenport man receives federal fentanyl trafficking sentence

Accused part of an investigation to identify firearms and narcotics traffickers in the area

A judge has sentenced Jose David Figueroa Pacheco, 33, of Davenport to six years in federal prison for trafficking over 40 grams of fentanyl. Figueroa Pacheco was found guilty by a jury on June 11, 2025.

His codefendant, Alberto Ismael Salinas Valencia, pleaded guilty on Jan. 23, and was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison.

According to testimony and evidence presented at his trial, between August 2023 and August 2024, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Orange County Sheriff ’s Office conducted a joint investigation to identify firearms and narcotics traffickers in the Orlando area. As part of that investigation, an undercover officer arranged to purchase a firearm and fentanyl pills from Salinas Valencia. Salinas Valencia arrived with the firearm at the buy location as a passenger in Figueroa Pacheco’s truck. Figueroa Pacheco then made phone calls to coordinate the delivery of the fentanyl pills, inspected the pills, and facilitated the transaction.
