Osceola County’s Speed Zone Speed Safety Cameras are active again! Slow down, stay alert and obey traffic laws—especially in school zones. In Poinciana the cameras are located at Bellalago Academy, BridgePrep Academy, Deerwood Elementary, Horizon Middle, KOA Elementary, Mater Brighton Lakes Academy, Poinciana High, Reedy Creek Elementary and Sunrise Elementary.

Are you up for a challenge? Save the date! Challenge Match— Martial Arts Competition takes place on Saturday, Sept. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mary Jane Arrington Gym and Aquatic Center. This event is presented by JC Hckd and Karate Tournament Locator. This Martial Arts Championship Tournament is open to all styles: Junior Division Beginner/ Intermediate/Advance; Black Belt Men Division/Women Black Belt Division and Kata/Kobudo/Kumite/Gran Championship All Division. Valora Medical Group is having a Laundry Day on Monday, Aug. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its 4551 Pleasant Hill Road location. Medicare beneficiaries are invited to stop by and pick up a free laundry basket filled with detergent. It is also an opportunity to meet with physicians and staff.

The Association of Poinciana Villages’ annual Poolside Luau is Saturday, Sept. 6 from 6-9 p.m. at the Victory Pool (445 Marigold Ave.) The pool area will be transformed into a tropical paradise with entertainment, food, music and a tropical cash bar with adult beverages.
