Where’s Waldo? He’s in Kissimmee!

If you think it’s too early to hunt for school supplies, here’s a fun thing to track down as the summer days (according to the calendar) dwindle down … Where’s Waldo?

Simple, he’s in Kissimmee? But … where?

Word is he’s shown up at local business throughout Osceola County have joined forced to celebrate the “Shop Local!” initiative.

From now until Aug. 2, participants can search for Waldo around Osceola County at participating locations. Families can enjoy joining the scavenger hunt together to find the iconic children’s book character, with his red-and-white- striped shirt and black glasses, who loves to hide in busy places.

This July, he’s hidden in 25 local businesses. To join in the fun, people can simply pick up a “Find Waldo Local in Osceola County!” stamp card at any of the participating stores. With each miniature Waldo they spot through Aug. 2, searchers get their card stamped or signed by the participating shop. Collecting store stamps or signatures at 20 or more businesses will gain seekers to entry into a grand-prize drawing for Waldo books and other prizes.

The event will culminate with a celebration party at White Rose Books & More in downtown Kissimmee—which may or may not be one of the 25 locations—on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 1-4 p.m.

Experience Kissimmee put out a list of the hiding locations, but in order to keep some of the secret, here are some hints: Waldo likes the bagels and beer in Celebration … indoor sports … books that are bought or loaned (or even comics!) … food in Kissimmee … flowers, history and art(s).

“Where’s Waldo brings small business together for marketing and engages locals in a fun free activity,” said Erin Decker Kratter, co-owner of White Rose Books & More.
