Beginning Monday morning, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office will be cracking down on aggressive driving like speeding, reckless, and careless behavior on roads throughout Osceola County as part of Operation Southern Slow Down.
The 2025 edition of the Operation is a multi-state traffic safety initiative that brings together public safety agencies across Florida, much of the Southeast U.S.. The clear goal is to reduce the number of fatalities and serious crashes caused by speeding and aggressive driving, especially at a time when driver-aged school students are on summer break.
This week-long enforcement and education campaign, in partnership with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), promotes awareness and accountability. By uniting efforts across the Southeast, the aim is to make our roads safer for everyone.
