Kissimmee’s Antra Patel (Medical Assisting) and Celebration’s Jenna Odom (Advertising Design), students at Osceola Technical College’s Kissimmee campus, have been awarded Skill Point Certificates at the 2025 SkillsUSA Championships in Atlanta June 25-26.
Patel made Osceola County history by becoming the first Osceola County student to advance to nationals in her category.
Industry leaders from 850 businesses, corporations, trade associations and unions planned and evaluated the contestants against their standards for entry-level workers. More than 1,200 industry judges and technical committee members participated this year, and Skill Point Certificates were awarded to the national contestants who met a predetermined threshold contest score for their SkillsUSA event, demonstrating workplace readiness.
Over the past decade, students at Poinciana and Liberty High schools have been among SkillsUSA national award winners and its national board of career and technical learning and workforce development programs.
"More than 6,500 students from every state in the nation participated in the 2025 SkillsUSA Championships," said SkillsUSA Executive Director Chelle Travis. "This showcase of career and technical education demonstrates SkillsUSA at its finest. Our students, instructors and industry partners work together to ensure that every student excels. This program expands learning and career opportunities for our members."
