Back to Schoo—naw man, it’s still Summer Camp time!

There are still some spots available for St. Cloud High School’s Youth Football Camp for ages 6-13 taking place Friday, July 18 from 6:30-9 p.m. and Saturday, July 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Cloud High School. The St. Cloud Library presents Camp iREAD: Mr. Keith’s “Carnival of Colors” Magic Show on Thursday. July 10 from 6-7 p.m.  Smile and laugh with this magic show full of audience participation.

Also at the library, Family Movie Matinee: The Angry Birds Movie takes place on Friday, July 11 from 2-4 p.m.  Keep cozy with a blanket and a pillow and enjoy.

Murder Mystery Monday is on Monday, July 14.  Adults 18 and up can come to the Library from 10-11:30 a.m. and immerse themselves in a mystery and a murder to solve.  This week’s mystery is “The Case of the Vanishing Doll.” Registration is required.  To register, call (407) 742-8888.

Looking for a venue?  The Ranch at St. Cloud will host an open house on Wednesday, July 16 from 5-7 p.m.  Explore the scenic beauty of this 219-acre estate, featuring majestic oak trees, a private lake and indoor and outdoor spaces.

The Pill Bottle Recycling Program, part of Osceola County’s efforts to reduce waste is happening now.  Pill bottles are a small size, which makes it challenging for traditional recycling processes.  This empty pill bottle collection program is designed to collect used bottles to be repurposed by Osceola County Animal Services to dispense pet medications.

To participate, remove labels, wash and dry thoroughly, replace lids and drop off at St. Cloud City Hall or Osceola County Animal Services (3910 Old Canoe Creek Road).

 

We are almost half way through summer, Hopkins Heroes’ Back to School Bash is right around the corner on Saturday, August 9.  To participate in its clothing drive, drop off old uniforms for the school uniform swap at Nutrition Zone (1100 Massachusetts Ave.) or Hopkins Park (620 E. 17th St.)  Pick-up is also available, and donations of school supplies are also needed. Zumba is held every Wednesday, morning at 9 a.m. at the St. Cloud Civic Center. The cost is $1 per person. This class is for all fitness levels.
