Osceola County Sheriff's Office deputies were involved in a shooting, the agency said, that resulted in the dead of an 18-year-old man.
The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. in the Pine Glen subdivision, a new neighborhood off East U.S. Highway 192 south and east of Old Melbourne Highway. Investigators said deputies responded to a mental health crisis call from a family member, and when the arrived the victim emerged from the woods naked and armed. He charged a pair of deputies, who both fired on the man. Neither deputy was hurt.
The only other detail released is that the man died from the gunshots. His identity, whether he died at the scene or at a hospital, and the identity of the deputies involved has not been released.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will investigate the case.
