UPDATE — FHP makes arrest in Wednesday morning deadly BVL hit and run crash

40-year-old Kissimmee woman killed on Florida Parkway; driver fled

9 P.M. THURSDAY — The Florida Highway Patrol has made an arrest in the deadly hit-and-run crash in Buenaventura Lakes Wednesday morning that took the life of a 40-year-old Kissimmee woman jogging on Florida Parkway.

FHP reported Thursday night it located the 2017 Ford F-250 involved and arrested driver Jairo Pena Espana, 21, of Honduras for leaving the scene of a crash involving death and driving without a license involving death.

 

6 P.M. WEDNESDAY — Florida Highway Patrol now says a vehicle, possibly a blue Ford F-150, was traveling eastbound on Sprucewood Lane around 6:22 a.m. Wednesday. The victim, a 40-year-old Kissimmee woman, was jogging southbound on Florida Parkway and entered the crosswalk. The driver of the vehicle was making a left turn onto Florida Parkway and struck the woman. The vehicle then fled the scene northbound on Florida Parkway.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or driver is asked to call FHP at *347 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS to assist the ongoing investigation.

 

9 A.M. WEDNESDAY — The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a vehicle that struck a woman they say was running on Florida Parkway not far from Parkway Middle School Wednesday morning.

Troopers say around 6:22 a.m. an unknown vehicle was headed northbound approaching Birchwood Circle when it struck the 40-year-old female victim from Kissimmee, who they say may have been running on Florida Parkway. The vehicle then fled the scene.

The victim was transported to HCA Florida Osceola Hospital and pronounced dead.

There is currently no information on the vehicle or the driver, FHP says. Anyone with information about the vehicle or driver is asked to call FHP at *347 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS to assist the ongoing investigation.

Troopers are also investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that occurred around midnight Saturday night into Sunday morning near the entrance to Cypress Cove along Pleasant Hill Road. FHP said it may be looking for a newer-model black Honda Accord, as reported by witnesses.
