St. Cloud home nurse charged with abuse of disabled; rapper arrested on Osceola armed robbery charges

The St. Cloud Police Department announced Thursday it arrested a home health nurse after she was caught on camera abusing an 18-year-old patient whose medical condition leaves her unable to defend herself.

Nia Ayers, 23, was charged with aggravated abuse of the elderly or disabled. SCPD obtained an arrest warrant Wednesday, and Ayers turned herself in to St. Cloud Police late Wednesday night without incident. She was arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail Thursday morning, where she is held on a $2,500 bond.

According to police, Ayers was recorded by the victim’s family's home security cameras repeatedly taping the victim's mouth shut and then ripping the tape off, holding a washcloth to cover the girl's mouth, and shaking the nonverbal patient's breathing machine while the device was connected to the patient's nose.

The girl's mother noticed cuts and scrapes on her daughter's face, around her mouth, and on her eyelids, police said, which prompted her to review her home camera footage.

"The victim in this case is completely unable to defend herself or cry out for help," said St. Cloud Police Chief Doug Goerke. "This is a truly heinous act, and we are concerned there may be other victims."

Anyone with a family member who has been cared for by Ayers who think they have abusive acts to report can call 407-891-6700 and request to speak with the SCPD Criminal Investigations Unit.

Rapper arrested on Osceola armed robbery charges

A 29-year-old woman identified as a rapper who goes by the name “AK47 Empress Sugar” was arrested Tuesday after allegedly luring a man she met on a dating website last month to a Kissimmee motel room and robbing him with the help of an armed accomplice.

Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies have charged Amandalee Kasilowski – who has an Orlando address – with home invasion robbery without a firearm/weapon, kidnapping with intent to commit a felony, robbery without a firearm/weapon and fraudulent use of credit cards. As of Thursday she remains held in the Osceola County Jail on a $92,500 bond.

According to sheriff’s reports, the unidentified victim told deputies he met the suspect — who introduced herself as “Amber” — on the Seeking dating site, and agreed to give her $400 after their date. Seeking, formerly known as Seeking Arrangements, is a dating website known for connecting people for mutually beneficial or “sugar daddy” relationships. The pair went to dinner at Disney Springs before returning to the victim’s room at the Red Lion Motel on West U.S. Highway 192.

The victim told deputies he went to the restroom and returned to find the suspect opening the door to let in an unknown man wearing a ski mask and dark clothing. The woman allegedly took the man’s wallet, keys and phone from his pockets and demanded the PINs to his bank cards.

Fearing for his safety — especially with the masked man blocking the exit and keeping a hand near his waist — the victim complied. Surveillance footage later showed the woman at a Wawa ATM on Vineland Road withdrawing cash. In total, more than $2,100 was stolen across multiple transactions, said reports.

Detectives used surveillance footage, ATM records and tattoo descriptions to identify Kasilowski as the suspect. They also linked her to a red Honda Civic registered to a family member and found social media accounts connecting her to her rapper persona.

It’s not clear if the male suspect has been identified or taken into custody.
