ST. CLOUD NEWS — It's time for Relay for Life

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is a fundraising event where communities come together to take action against cancer. The 16th Annual Music and Bike Fest for Relay for Life Rayzor’s Edge event is on Sunday, March 23 in downtown St. Cloud.  This is a chance to connect with the community, promote your product or services and contribute to the fight against cancer.

The Poker Run starts at Island Cloud Grill, (1122 Pennsylvania Ave.)  The first stop is American Legion Post 10, (205 Lakeshore Dr., Kissimmee), then on to Wojos Bar and Grill, 3310 Canoe Creek Road, St. Cloud) and AMVETS Post 33, 4310 Deer Run Road and American Legion 80 (1019 Pennsylvania Ave.) in St. Cloud. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.

Later, rev-up your engines at the Relay for Life Rayzor’s Edge Car Show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on New York Avenue  Car registration is $25.  This is a chance to show off your pride and joy while making a difference. Do you have a smoke detector?  If not, there will be a free smoke alarm distribution on Saturday, Mar. 22 beginning at 10 a.m.  Smoke alarms will be distributed by St. Cloud Fire Rescue and the Red Cross, canvassing a portion the downtown State streets, installing smoke alarms in homes that need them.  They will cover Lakeshore Drive to 10th Street, from the east side of Columbia Avenue to Georgia Avenue.

 

The 7th Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, an event presented by Help Now of Osceola on Wednesday, Mar. 26 at 6 p.m.  Walk a Mile in Her Shoes provides men the opportunity to help raise domestic abuse awareness by walking downtown St. Cloud wearing high heel shoes.  The Walk will start at St. Cloud City Hall and proceed through St. Cloud’s downtown district in conjunction with the Monthly Market. All are welcome.

 

Double C Bar Ranch, 4200 N. Canoe Creek Road U-Pick Blueberries is now open!  The hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and 12-4 p.m. on Sundays.  In addition to fresh blueberries, enjoy a oak grilled ranch burger, fresh cut curly fries, Sims Family Lemonade Stand, Lynn’s Blueberry Hand Pies, a farm store and trolly tours around the ranch

 

The Borrow Pit Pond Fishing Derby takes place on Saturday, Mar. 29 from 9-11 a.m. at Borrow Pit Pond on Budinger Avenue across from St. Cloud Elementary School.  Pre-sales are $10 per child, 15 per child at the door.  Age groups are: Tadpoles, 3-5 years old; Half Pints, 6-8 years old; Minnows, 9-12 years old. The City of St. Cloud presents a free Spring Movie in the Park on Friday, Mar. 28 at Hopkins Park. The Bee Movie will be shown at dusk.  Bring blankets and enjoy this evening under the stars.

 

Pickleballers unite!  Play for a purpose on Saturday, Mar. 2  from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 1790 East Irlo Bronson Hwy. St. Cloud.  Bring a team and represent your brand for this Pickleball Classic presented by MidFlorida Credit Union.  The fee is $50 per player for this 2-person co-ed team.  Every team that signs up help benefits UCP of Osceola, which provides support for individuals with cerebral palsy and other challenges.  All skill levels are welcome.
