One of downtown Kissimmee’s Valentine’s Day weekend traditions is the annual Kissimmee 5K, held on Saturday for the 17th time. The event is about shining a light on heart health during Heart Month, and a portion of the proceeds benefit the American Heart Association. Runners enjoyed a serene and scenic early-morning run on Lakeshore Boulevard, enjoying the visit of Lake Tohopekaliga’s north shore, passing Toho Marina and the Monument of the States. Part of the fun is seeing the runners’ Valentine attire with “Cutest Cupid” and “Prettiest Pair” awards given along with those to the fastest runners.
