While the Silver Spurs Rodeo will be a central part of what's going on at Osceola Heritage Park for the next 10 days, it's surrounded by another traditional event.
The 81st annual Osceola County Fair and Kissimmee Valley Livestock Show celebrate the county's tradition and heritage of agriculture and ranching, while mixing in entertainment, food and fun for the whole family. The fair is hosted by The Kissimmee Valley Livestock Show, a non-profit organization committed to promoting agriculture, the education and development of area youth and the Osceola County community, and so there are a lot of agricultural and animal-centric experiences to be had, as well.
It has something for most everyone: rides, petting zoos and other animal acts, human acts like an "American Idol" type competition, bands, shows, a Demolition Derby on Sunday and more.
Many days have specials, including Friday, Opening Night, where admission is $2, or free with a donation of canned goods. Other days have carload specials and unlimited wristband deals.
