Poinciana Correspondent The Association of Poinciana Villages’ (APV) Poinciana Beautiful Homeowners Awards Gala is set for Saturday, Jan. 25 from 7-10 p.m. at the Poinciana Community Center Ballroom (445 Marigold Ave.). One home in each Village will win the title of Poinciana’s Most Beautiful Home with awards, prizes and appreciation.
The theme is The Great Gatsby. Walking into this venue you will think you have been transported back to the roaring 20’s. Enjoy live music, dancing, a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres. Several Advisory Boards in Osceola County are looking for residents to join and help shape the future of the community. In addition to county-wide boards, there are two District 3 exclusive Boards—the Board of Adjustment and Library Advisory Board. The Rotary Club of Poinciana’s next meeting will be on Friday, Jan. 24. Meet at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast and fellowship before the 8 a.m. meeting. The guest speaker will be Grace Dearden, Development Director of Dave’s House. Dave’s House believes everybody with a serious mental illness deserves a safe and supportive place to call home by integrating affordable housing with comprehensive mental health services, an environment is created where residents can thrive and reach their potential.

The current construction of Poinciana Boulevard between Pleasant Hill Road and Trafalgar Boulevard includes is widening the roadway to four lanes. The project includes sidewalks, a multi-modal trail, upgraded drainage and enhanced intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
