POINCIANA NEWS — December will start busy in Poinciana

Happy Thanksgiving Poinciana! It is customary for us, as Americans, to pause and give thanks for our family, friends, community and our country. Sometimes we may become “caught up” in our own personal agendas and lose sight of the good things right in front of us. May your day be full of love, kindness and gratitude. Be grateful for the loved ones in your life and for your blessings.

The Central Florida Expressway Authority is seeking an audience with the Poinciana business community regarding the future Southport Connector Expressway. Registration is required as space is limited. To register, go to www.bit.ly/ExpresswayUpdate2024.

Join Osceola County District 3 Commissioner Brandon Arrington for a holiday food distribution on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon (or whenever all supplies are distributed) at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church (3880 Pleasant Hill Road). Meal packages will be given out to the first 600 families at this drive-thru event. One package per car, first come-first served while supplies last.

Before putting up those incredible Christmas decorations—if you haven’t already—take a picture of your beautiful Poinciana home and submit it to be considered Poinciana’s Home of the Year in your Village. APV honors the owners of well maintained, beautiful homes at the Poinciana Beautiful Homeowners Awards Gala to be held on Saturday, Jan. 25. The theme for the Awards Gala is the Great Gatsby.

The deadline for submission of your undecorated home is Friday, Dec. 13. For more information, go to https:// www.apvcommunity.com/poinciana-beautiful.
