ST. CLOUD NEWS — Here’s how to help others at Thanksgiving

The City of St. Cloud is collecting food donations for its annual Thanksgiving Drivethru event. Drop off donation bags at St. Cloud Civic Center, including. non-perishable items like boxes of stuffing, canned yams, turkey gravy, boxes of instant mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, canned green beans, corn muffin mix. Deadline to bring donations is Thursday, Nov. 21.For more information, call St. Cloud Parks & Recreation at 407-957-7243.

 

Support small businesses and attend Pink Friday 2024 at Mick Farms, 4261 Canoe Creek Road. on Friday, Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This one-day event features vendors, lots of pink and lots of fun things planned!

 

The new date for the Downtown Monthly Market is Saturday, Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy the day in historic downtown St. Cloud. Find local makers, artisans and food trucks while enjoying shops, cafes and eateries.

 

The kids are off from school the whole week of Thanksgiving, what should they do? The City of St. Cloud’s Fall Day Camp is Nov. 25-27 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the St. Cloud Civic Center. This camp is for children ages 5 to 12. The fee is $30 per child per day for city residents, $40 for non-residents. Register online at www.webtrac.stcloud fl.gov or call 407-957-7243.

 

Be a part of the community—The Mom Community: The MomCo. The MomCo meets on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 6-8 p.m. at the St. Cloud Library. The MomCo is for every Mom from her first pregnancy through her last child finishing kindergarten. The MomCo group offers community and encouragement. The meeting includes practical teaching through speakers, demonstrations and videos.

Gardening Series: Palms in the Garden takes place on Monday, Nov. 25 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Presented by IF/ UFAS Extension, learn how to navigate the many forms and sizes to select the right one for your yard and how to care for it after planting.

Imagination Ink is Monday, Nov. 25 and Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 1:30-3 p.m. School age children ages 6-11 can learn the art of story telling and illustration from a professional, then dream up a short story and bring it to life through art and words. Participants will have their work compiled, published and available for viewing at the Library. This program is in celebration of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month).

The St. Cloud Library is located at 810 13th St. All Library programs are free and open to the public.

 

St. Cloud Main Street’s Small Business Saturday is on Saturday, Nov. 30. Stroll along the historic streets of downtown for one of a kind and handmade gifts. Help support locally owned businesses in St. Cloud. St. Cloud Main Street will be set up at 1102 New York Ave. with 10th Street Produce and Jimmy Bears to provide free breakfast for the first 100 people. At Blue Lotus, (1124 10th St.), they have a holiday pop-up shop planned. Shop local, small business vendors inside the studio.

Then that evening, welcome the holidays in Sunbridge with Starry Night on from 4-8 p.m. at BaseCamp (8197 Cyrlis Dr.). There will be a tree lighting celebration featuring a holiday market, kid’s zone, live music, wooden ornament kid’s craft, holiday entertainment, photo ops and more.
