On Tuesday, Nov. 19, the Central Florida Expressway Authority will hold an informal community open house to discuss the Project Development and Environmental Study regarding the proposed elevated expressway along the median of Cypress Parkway (the Southport Connector). It will be held from 3-7 p.m. at the Poinciana Community Center (445 Marigold Ave.), with looping presentations across the way at the Anthony DePalma Center (395 Marigold Ave.) that will include exhibits and staff interactions. It’s almost that time! The Association of Poinciana Village’s (APV) Annual Christmas Parade and Celebration is set for Saturday, Dec. 14 at 11 a.m. (floats, vendors and food trucks arrive at 9 a.m.) The parade steps off from Vance Harmon Park and is followed by a holiday celebration. More than 1,000 Poinciana residents usually attend.
