POINCIANA NEWS -- Things to do now that Milton moved on

As of this writing Hurricane Milton appears to have its sights on Central Florida, in particular the I-4 corridor, similar to Hurricane Charley in 2004. Poinciana was caught by surprise then. Although the population has nearly quadrupled, access to information has also exploded. We knew Milton was coming since Saturday, hope all preparations were made for safety.

For after storm information, Polk County residents may access www.Polk-county.net. A citizens information line is also available at 863-664-0228.

In Osceola County, Osceola County Office of Emergency Management has a sign-up number for texts alerts. Text ALERTOsceola to 888777 or visit alertosceola.org.
