HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital will hold a Nursing Hiring Event on Thursday, Sept. 5 from 1-3 p.m. The hospital will be interviewing registered nurses for medical surgery, PCU, house supervisor and emergency room. Earlier in the day, learn how to stay safe on the Internet by attending on Online Safety Class at the Poinciana Library from 10 to 11 a.m. Follow the guidelines in this course to protect yourself online and learn the signs for malware, spyware, phishing, viruses and more.
Also at the Library, Rapid Spanish takes place Friday, Sept. 6 at noon. Practice speaking everyday phrases in Spanish while discovering the cultural aspects associated with Hispanic countries. Conversational Spanish will also be held on Friday at 3 p.m. Engage with other speakers to practice your Spanish and improve your vocabulary and confidence. Basic Spanish is required.
Have some fun on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 2-4 p.m. with Name That Tune in One. Go head-to-head in a game of song wits by matching songs with the performers.
E.S.O.L. for Beginners allows Spanish speakers to become more familiar with the English language. This class takes place on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m.
Nutrition and Healthy Cooking takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 12-1 p.m. Presented by Abir Blaney, Nutrition Education Coordinator with Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, the goal is to teach how to shop smarter using nutritional information to make healthier choices.

Find out on International Dot Celebration on Wednesday, Sept. 11th from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Celebrate “Global Celebration of Creativity, Courage and Collaboration” based on the book The Dot by Peter Reynolds. The intended audience is 6-11 years old.

Osceola County School District Parents and Students Open House is an opportunity to learn about academic programs and the extra curriculum opportunities that are available for students. Elementary school Open Houses will be the week of Sept. 9-13. Middle and K-8 school Open Houses will be Sept. 16-20. Rise and Shine! The next Nature Conservancy Disney Wilderness Preserve’s Early Birding Day is Saturday, Sept. 21. Stop by the Preserve between 7-10 a.m. for special early access to the Preserve. Engage with staff about bird species and enjoy a closer look through their spotting scope. Almost 30 years ago, the Walt Disney Company, made a gift by creating Disney Wilderness Preserve. This Preserve was once the 8,500-acre Walker Ranch – a cattle ranch which was situated at the head of the Everglades watershed. Partnering with the Nature Conservancy, the State of Florida and other groups, The Walt Disney Company purchased the property and transferred to the Nature Conservancy to create a preserve. Regular hours for the Preserve are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Nature Preserve is located at 2700 Scrubs Jay Trail, Poinciana.
