The Osceola County Sheriff's Office has identified the suspect in a deadly shooting in Kissimmee Wednesday.
Kevin Walter Duda, 54, is being held at the Osceola County Jail under an unrelated warrant for violating probation in a 2023 criminal traffic case.
Wednesday afternoon, the Sheriff's Patrol unit responded to the entrance to the Ponderosa RV Park on Fortune Road near Bill Beck Boulevard on a traffic crash call that involved a battery. On arrival deputies discovered a male subject lying on the ground near a spent casing; a Good Samaritan was on scene rendering aid. Deputies continued lifesaving efforts until Fire Rescue arrived and transported the victim to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The suspect, later ID'd as Duda, was apprehended minutes later at a nearby store. Investigators have learned the victim, yet to be ID'd until next of kin is notified, and suspect knew each other.
Further charges are pending against Duda, the Sheriff's Office said.
