The bright lights of the Ferris wheel and a taste of those delicious, boiled peanuts are a couple of my favorite things about the Osceola County Fair!
But, so are the sound of the auctioneer and that familiar fresh sawdust smell. This year at the Osceola County Fair, grab some of those boiled peanuts and come to the Kissimmee Valley Livestock Show arena to cheer on and support the Osceola County 4-H and Future Farmers of America members.
The 4-H and FFA members work hard all year raising market steer, hogs, lambs, and goats to place at the top of their class at the fair to yield the best products for the consumer market. By supporting these hard-working exhibitors, you can purchase a great meat product that you can follow from farm to table. The money 4-H and FFA members earn from selling their market animals is used for various purposes, such as college, to buy a new car, or to put money away to help purchase their future market animals.
If you are interested in supporting your local 4-H and FFA members but are not interested in purchasing a market animal for meat consumption you can leave a donation the night of the sale.
If you would like to come to the fair to show your support or if you are interested in becoming a buyer, here are the dates for the 2024 market animal shows in the KVLS arena (next to the Osceola Heritage Park Events Center):
Feb. 8 — Market Goat Show, 4 p.m.; Market Hog Show, 7 p.m.
