Tuesday after Thanksgiving is also Travel Deal Tuesday
Thanksgiving Thursday.
Black Friday.
Small Business Saturday.
(Rest and Recovery Sunday, if you planned it right.)
Cyber Monday.
Now, today is a couple things ... Giving Tuesday, and Travel Deal Tuesday.
So keep you hearts, and wallets, out.
Giving Tuesday (appears as GivingTuesday or #GivingTuesday is social media circles) was created in 2012 as a movement to make a positive impact on communities, outside one's own home, during the holiday season. It's also looked at as a way to make final tax-deductible charitable donations before the end of the year. The amount raised worldwide has grown in a decade from $20 million to $2.7 billion in 2022.
A short but non-comprehensive list of local organizations that impact lives throughout Osceola County — who could use your support — include:
Help Now of Osceola
Hope Partnership
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida (including clubs in Kissimmee, Buenaventura Lakes and St. Cloud)
The Salvation Army (as it looks to replace its fire-destroyed Osceola center)
Give Kids the World Village
Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida (reach out to Pantry Planters to be a local pantry and source for food for families)
Ronald McDonald House
The Tuesday after Thanksgiving has also come to be known as Travel Deal Tuesday — a national shopping event where consumers can expect to see more deals on travel than any other day in the post-Thanksgiving sales period.
Flights, hotels, cruises, and international travel can be found by hitting the airlines, cruise lines and your favorite travel websites — sometimes hitting them hard — to find trip and vacation ideas for 2024.
