A fatal crash involving a Publix semi truck and car has the westbound lanes of U.S. Highway 192 east of St. Cloud closed at Bradley drive, which is just east of Nova Road.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, which occurred prior to sunrise, around 4:41 a.m.
As the road remains closed into mid-morning for the investigation, westbound 192 traffic needing to get around the crash can use Hickory Tree Road from near Harmony to Narcoossee.
According to troopers, the semi truck, driven by an Orlando woman, was headed eastbound on 192, was making a U-turn at Bradley Road and was blocking both westbound lanes. A 28-year-old St. Cloud man was driving a Honda Accord westbound, struck the trailer and came to rest underneath it. The driver was pronounced deceased on scene. The truck driver was not injured and has remained on scene.
