One person is dead and four others injured after a near head-on collision on Orange Blossom Trail just south of Osceola-Polk Line Road Sunday night, Florida Highway Patrol reports.
According to a crash report, at 10 p.m. a Chrysler Sebring was headed north, and tried to pass a vehicle near Sundown Drive in a ‘No Passing’ zone. It entered into the southbound lane, into the path of a Toyota Corolla driven by a 30-year-old Kissimmee man. The Sebring veered back into the northbound lane, but not before striking the Corolla. After the initial impact, it rotated onto the east shoulder.
The two drivers and two passengers in the Sebring were transported to HCA Florida Hospital Osceola with non-life threatening injuries, but another passenger in the Sebring, a 26-year-old Lakeland woman, was pronounced deceased on scene, FHP said.
The crash remains under investigation.
