St. Cloud man arrested in Orange County hit-and-run
Anthony Marcel Martin, 27, of St. Cloud, was arrested for his role in a hit-and-run Orlando crash Monday that left a motorcycle rider from Orlando critically injured, Florida Highway Patrol reports.
At approximately 11:22 p.m., the motorcyclist was making a left turn onto Americana Boulevard from northbound Orange Blossom Trail and turned into the path of a Nissan Altima, later found to be driven by Martin, which was traveling over the posted speed limit. The driver fled the scene southbound, and was later found in a parking lot. Martin was detained, and later booked into the Orange County Jail for failing to remain at a crash involving serious injuries (felony hit and run) and tampering with physical evidence for removing the license plate from the vehicle.
FHP updated Thursday at the motorcyclist has passed away, upping the charge to failing to remain at a crash involving death. FHP reminds drivers that leaving the scene of a crash that results in property damage, injury, or death is against the law.

FHP launch annual ‘Stuff The Charger’ food drive
Help support Florida families in need this holiday season by donating non-perishable foods to the Florida Highway Patrol in a unique drive promotion.
The “Stuff the Charger” food drive is a statewide effort to support Floridians who could benefit from a little extra help this holiday season. Now through Nov. 30, the department is collecting non-perishable food donations for food banks across the state.
“Help make a difference in your community this holiday season by donating to our annual ‘Stuff the Charger’ food drive,” said FHP Col. Gary Howze II. “We greatly appreciate your donations as they are critical in providing food to families in need.”
The department’s goal is to continue their annual successful food drive to make a meaningful impact in the lives of Florida’s families during the holiday season.
The items needed are canned goods (meats, vegetables, fruits, and soups), dried goods (stuffing, boxed potatoes, rice, cornbread mix, grits, cereal, and oatmeal) and others like nuts, peanut butter, evaporated milk, bottled water, and broth.
Individuals wishing to donate food can take their contributions to any local FHP Station (closest to us is 11059 International Drive, Orlando, just south of Central Florida Parkway).
