Closures on 417, Turnpike planned for Wednesday and Thursday night

If you're going to be using northbound State Road 417 or Florida's Turnpike to head into Orange County in the coming overnights, heed planned road closures planned for some bridge work.

Wednesday night into Thursday morning, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.: The southbound SR 417 ramp to Florida’s Turnpike (Exit 12) will be closed. Drivers will continue to the Orange Blossom Trail (Exit 11) and follow detour signs. At the same time, the southbound Turnpike under 417 will be closed overnight for bridge work. Drivers will exit to 417 South, then follow the OBT detour.

On Thursday night from 10-5, the northbound SR 417 ramp to the Turnpike, and the northbound Turnpike under SR 417, will be closed. Drivers will continue on to Landstar Boulevard (Exit 14) or exit to 417 North, then follow the detour to Landstar, back onto 417 South to get back on the Turnpike.

Extra tolls incurred will be suspended during the detours.

It's all part of a project to widen State Road 417 from International Drive to State Road 528, which is supposed to be completed next year.
