One Kissimmee man killed, another injured in John Young-528 crash Sunday night, FHP says

A 28-year-old Kissimmee man was killed, and another 65-year-old from the city was injured, when they were involved in a crash Sunday night at the John Young Parkway interchange with State Road 528 in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported Monday morning.

According to a crash report, the victim was headed southbound on John Young at 10:47 p.m., and turning left onto 528 eastbound, when his Nissan 370Z traveled into the grass median, causing the driver to lose control and collide with the van of the 65-year-old, who was stopped at a red light in the northbound John Young lanes. He then collide with another driver from Orlando stopped at the same red light.

The right rear of the Nissan collided with the left side of the van and the front of the Ford Fusion of the other driver. The 28-yea-old was transported to Dr. Phillips Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The other drivers were treated for minor injuries on-scene.

The crash remains under investigation, FHP says.
