HCA Osceola collects 120 pounds of medications for Take Back Day

HCA Florida Osceola Hospital partnered with Kissimmee Police Department on Saturday, to provide a drive-through drop off site for unused and expired medications at the hospital location as part of the National Take Back Day Initiative.

A total of 120 pounds of medications were collected and now off the streets. The initiative is organized in April and October each year by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and is designed to raise awareness about the dangers of opioid misuse and the importance of safe and proper disposal of unused or expired medications. HCA Florida Osceola Hospital joined their six other HCA Florida Healthcare facilities to host collection sites.

“Florida Road Trip” returns to WUCF-TV June 8

WUCF’s Emmy Awardwinning program, “Florida Road Trip” returns with all new episodes exploring the history and stories that make up Florida.

New host Allison (Kropff) Godlove will visit cities across Central Florida and beyond to interview notable Floridians, take part in community events and explore historical landmarks.

The ninth season of “Florida Road Trip” debuts June 8, 2023 on WUCF. Buddy Pittman, who previously served as a host and Executive Producer for Florida Road Trip, recently ended his 50-year career in television in January 2023. Pittman will continue to serve as a consultant for WUCF and “Florida Road Trip.”

“‘Florida Road Trip’ is a fun and interesting way to explore the Sunshine State and share the unique stories of our state’s history,” said Godlove. “Storytelling has always been a passion of mine. Road Trip is a great way to tell the stories of the communities in which we live and visit. I’m looking forward to learning and sharing with you this season.”
