Poinciana News — Time to think about Summer Camp!

Here is a fantastic opportunity for children in Osceola County grades K-8 to attend summer camp at the Osceola School District Environmental Center at 4300 Poinciana Boulevard (near the back of Liberty High School). This camp is free and registration is happening now, and space will fill up quickly.

Week 1 (June 5-8) is for grades K-2, Weeks 2 and 3 (June 12-15 and 19-22) for grades 3-5, Week 4 (June 26-29) for grades 6-8.

Hours for the camp will be Monday to Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Parents must provide transportation to and from the camp. Camp highlights include scientific investigations of the Everglade’s animals, walking the elevated boardwalk to see flora and fauna, and a visit from a Wild Florida alligator and Avian Reconditioning Center’s Roaming Raptors Program to learn about birds of prey. Campers get to learn about Florida butterflies and will have the opportunity to release them. There will also be a field trip to Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures.
