Poinciana Boulevard ramps to close overnight Monday into Tuesday morning
As Osceola County transitions Osceola Parkway to a cashless toll system, work that has been going on that resulted in lane closures and detours will continue next week in the eastbound lanes, the county announced late Thursday afternoon.
Closures will occur eastbound at the Shingle Creek Mainline Toll Plaza starting Monday, April 17, through Sunday, April 24.
Single lane closures will occur nightly from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Friday morning; one travel lane will remain open.
The full eastbound lanes will be closed from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Friday night through the morning of Monday, April 24.
The most likely detour route for eastbound drivers will be to exit the Parkway at Poinciana Boulevard, and take Poinciana or Vineland Road south to U.S. Highway 192, then east to northbound John Young Parkway back to the Osceola Parkway.
Additionally, Osceola County has announced the Poinciana Boulevard ramps to Osceola Parkway will close on Monday, April 17, at 10 p.m. and re-open by 5 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18.
The full conversion to a cashless toll system via an overhead gantry is expected to be completed sometime in Spring 2023, the county said.
