A 73-year-old Davenport man was killed late Saturday morning in what Florida Highway Patrol investigators are calling a head-on collision.
The crash closed Osceola Polk Line Road at Old Lake Wilson Road for hours on Saturday.
According to the police report, just after 11 a.m. Saturday a transit can driven by a 41-year-old Orlando man was headed west on Osceola Polk Line Road west of Old Lake Wilson Road, and veered into the eastbound lanes of the road, for what FHP calls “an unknown reason,” striking the Ford Explorer driven by the Davenport man. He was pronounced deceased on-scene. The Orlando man was airlifted as a trauma alert with serious injuries to ORMC.
