A free "meet the artists" reception will be held at Osceola Arts on Saturday, March 4 from 2-5 p.m. to highlight three exhibits that will be on display in celebration of Women's History Month.
2023 Unusual Frida: Juried Art Show — Now in its 4th year, the Unusual Frida: Juried Art Show creators have re-launched a colorful, unique, and extraordinary art event. “Unusual” is out of the ordinary, surprising, odd, exceptional, extraordinary, remarkable, phenomenal, unconventional, unique, unexpected, peculiar, and uncommon.
Each artist selected for the Unusual Frida exhibition has created a Frida Kahlo-inspired masterpiece. Unique works representing love, tragedy, suffering, passion, courage, and pain, showcasing Frida in a way that has never been seen before.
Unusual Frida will be on display March 1-31.
RESILIENCE: Women Artist Group (WAG) — an exhibition created by The Women Artist Group (WAG) on display in the Community Gallery now through March 26. The Women Artists Group is comprised of professional artists living in Central Florida with extensive exhibition records. They interpret their changing world with strength, endurance, and continued visual curiosity. The Women Artists Group began in 2015 to encourage individual growth, participate in shared art opportunities, joy, and laughter, and provide feedback on their artistic endeavors.
RESILIENCE is the capacity to rebound from difficulties, and the ability to spring back into shape. Beatrice Athanas, Eliza Casler, Marianna Ross, Bonnie Shapiro, Deborah B. Smith, and Lillian Verkins, will exhibit paintings that represent their artistic views.
Evolution of Innocence: Works by PJ Svejda — These works will on display in the Studio Gallery from March 1 through April 1. PJ has been involved in activism for environmental, animal, and human rights and has found a way to merge her passion for art with her desire for change. Her paintings tell stories of pain and hope and raise the viewer’s self-awareness into their own humanity; urging increased consciousness of the time we spend here on earth.
These Osceola Arts exhibits are free and open to the public. For more information contact marilyn@osceolaarts.org or go to www.osceolaarts.org.
