Sheriff: Woman found dead, man shoots himself with deputies on scene in apparent murder-suicide

Osceola County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a scene at a home south of St. Cloud, where they say a man shot himself with cops on scene, and found a woman dead with him in what Sheriff Marcos Lopez is calling a possible murder-suicide.

Lopez said a male family member called 911 around 8:30 a.m. this morning from another location and asked personnel to check on a home near Kaiser Avenue and Quail Roost Road. The caller said, "My son is upset."

Arriving minutes later, they reportedly saw a while male who yelled, "Please don’t shoot my dog," before running around the corner of the home.

Deputies say they then heard a gunshot, and ran in to see what happened. They found a white female who had been shot, and the male, who Lopez estimated to be in his late '20s, had shot himself. Lopez reported the female was pronounced dead on scene, and the male was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his wounds.

Police had yet to identify either victim, and didn't have an age on the female during a press conference late Tuesday morning. The Medical Examiner is working to determine cause of death of girl and when she died.

There had been no history of domestic violence calls at the address, Lopez said, noting they both lived at the home and they were possibly in a relationship, but the homicide unit is still investigating to determine those details.

"We'll continue to be here for a while as we investigate," Lopez said.
