Ramp and road closures associated with the State Road 417/Central Florida GreeneWay continue this week, and may impact your commute from Kissimmee into Orange County or to Orlando International Airport. Many of the closures begin Monday night, but some start or extend into later in the week. Here's the details:
Moday-Thursday, Feb. 6-9, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.: The northbound and southbound ramps from Florida’s Turnpike to northbound SR 417 (Exit 251), for ramp work. Drivers will be directed to travel southbound on SR 417 to US 441/South Orange Blossom Trail (Exit 11) and follow the detour signs.
Also Monday-Thursday, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.: Orange Avenue under SR 417, for ramp work. Northbound drivers will be directed onto Town Center Boulevard and southbound drivers will be directed onto Wetherbee Road.
Monday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.: The Landstar Boulevard ramp to northbound SR 417, for road work. Drivers will be directed to travel southbound on SR 417 to US 441/South Orange Blossom Trail (Exit 11) and follow the detour signs.
Thursday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.: The ramp from northbound SR 417 to Jeff Fuqua Boulevard/Orlando International Airport (Exit 17A), for paving. Drivers will be directed to use the Boggy Creek Road exit (Exit 17B) and follow the detour signs.
These improvements to State Road 417 are expected to be complete by spring 2024,according to the Central Florida Expressway Authority.
