A Poinciana man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a four-car accident at Poinciana Boulevard and Pleasant Hill Road, Florida Highway Patrol reports.
Just before 1:30 p.m., the 31-year-old was driving his Honda Insight north on Poinciana. FHP reported he was driving on the painted median strip, and crossed into the path of a Ford E-350 turning left from Pleasant Hill onto Poinciana, and the van crashed into the side of the Honda. The impact caused the Honda to overturn, enter the southbound lane of Poinciana and strike the front of a Chevy Equinox. The Honda's engine became detached and then struck the left side of another vehicle.
The Honda driver was pronounced dead on the scene. The Equinox driver, and two child passengers, were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
The crash closed Poinciana south of Reeves Road for several hours during the investigation.
