While Toho Water Authority has been flushing water lines in St. Cloud for the better part of two months -- and it will continue next week -- it will also expand into areas north of Poinciana and north and east of its two high schools.
On Monday, flushing activities will begin in areas along Ham Brown Road, and Reaves Road. They will will take place Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and are expected to be completed by Feb. 10. The system flush will involve releasing water from either fire hydrants or automatic flushing devices on the distribution system. This process helps enhance water quality. Instances of lower than normal water pressure may occur. During the flushing activities, residents may experience water discoloration, odor and sediment. Toho Water says these occurrences can usually be resolved by running a cold and a hot water tap for 15 to 20 minutes to clear out the water lines within the home. To avoid possible staining of clothes during washing, it is advised to wash clothes in the evening or on weekends.

This week's winners are those bordered by U.S. 192, Neptune Road, Old Canoe Creek Road and the St. Cloud Canal, and also those between Brown Chapel Road the canal and Lakeshore Drive, north of Walmart and Home Depot.
