Osceola Sheriff's Office arrests 7 in Halloween operation

Those visiting people's houses on Monday night — Halloween — weren't only interested in getting candy.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with Florida Department of Corrections State Probation, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and St. Cloud Police Department conducted Operation Safe Night on Monday.

The operation's focus was to make contact on Halloween night with sexual offenders and sexual predators whoare on probation to verify compliance with Halloween conditions and other sexual offender/predator laws.

Operation Safe Night concluded with 96 checks of sex offenders and predators, which resulted in seven arrests and multiple electronic devices taken into evidence. All arrestees, from ages 28 to 65, were booked and transported to the Osceola County Jail. Their charges ranged from violating probation to failing to register new addresses per the rules of the offender reporting list.
