Per a Florida Highway Patrol report, a motorist on Buenaventura Boulevard could not see a bicyclist traveling in her lane in a pre-dawn crash.
In the accident that occurred just after 7 a.m. Thursday, the driver of a Lexus SUV, a 30-year-old woman, struck an 82-year-old bicyclist on Buenaventura near Majors Lane. She was headed westbound, when the cyclist entered the road from Majors Lane. The bicycle was not equipped with lights, the FHP report said, and the driver, who stayed on scene, advised investigating troopers said the driver could not see the bicyclist in the roadway.
There were no other injuries said FHP, who also noted the crash remains under investigation.
