A 20-year-old St. Cloud man was killed on east U.S. Highway 192 late Saturday night into Sunday when the Florida Highway Patrol reports his pickup truck ran off the road and overturned.
Per the FHP report, around 12:30 a.m. the 2005 Dodge Ram was headed eastbound near Wild Turkey Lane, a few miles west of U.S. Highway 441 (Holopaw Road) when, for an unknown reason, the driver ran off the right side of the roadway. The truck began to overturn and struck multiple trees, and the driver was ejected -- the report stated he was not wearing a seat belt.
While overturned the truck became completely engulfed in flames, FHP spokesperson Tara Crescenzi said, and the driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
