The City of St. Cloud has reported that the body of a boater who went missing Saturday night on East Lake Toho in St. Cloud was recovered and identified Sunday, and the boat ramp has reopened.
Crews from Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation, the St. Cloud Fire Department, Osceola County Fire Rescue and the Osceola County Sheriff's Office took up the search late Saturday night, and called it off without finding the person. Officials report the man, from Port St. Lucie, fell off a pontoon boat into the lake, and never resurfaced.
The city said FWC recovered the body in the late morning hours Sunday. The Osceola County Sheriff's Office, Osceola County Fire Rescue and EMS and the St. Cloud Police Department also responded. Sunday morning, FWC boats and the Sheriff's boat and helicopter began a search at first light. Witnesses say the search area spanned most of the lake to the canal at Fells Cove.
