Florida Highway Patrol is asking for the public's help for information into a hit-and-run car-versus-pedestrian accident Friday morning on Vineland Road that left a Kissimmee woman critically injured.
According to the FHP report, an unknown vehicle was headed northbound on Vineland (County Road 55) at Kyngs Heath Road (just north of U.S. Highway 192) in Kissimmee when it struck the woman, who was located in the grass shoulder at 7:05 a.m. It is currently unknown was the pedestrian was doing, such as walking or standing, FHP spokesperson Lt. Tara Crescenzi said.
An unknown portion of the vehicle struck the woman. The vehicle left the scene, and the pedestrian was transported Osceola Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries as a trauma alert, Crescenzi said.
FHP troopers believe the crash occurred before sunrise, and advise a white Honda sedan may be involved.
