My Soccer Academy (MSA) will host a Community Soccer Festival on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at Deerwood Community Park (4051 Laurel Ave.)
This event is for everyone. The game divisions are: Toddlers - 4 versus 4 (no goalie) - Teams up to 6 players; U6 - 4 versus 4 (no goalie) - Teams up to 6 players; U9 and up - 5 versus 5 (with goalie) - Teams up to 7 players; U9 and up - 4 versus 4 (no goalie) - Teams up to 7 players; Moms vs. Moms - 5 versus 5 (with goalie), and Parents vs. Coaches - 7 versus 7 (with goalie).
Game format is: Toddlers - 5-minute games; U6, U9 and U13 - 12-minute games; Moms vs. Moms and Dads vs. Coaches - 2 halves of 15 minutes. U6 to U13 - minimum of 3 games guaranteed.
All participants will receive a medal. After the games a fitness Class for the parents will be offered. Snacks, soda and juice will be available for purchase. Ticket fees are $5.00. EGG-A-Palooza will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Poinciana Community Park (5109 Allegheny Road). Sponsored by Polk County Parks and Recreation, this free family event will feature egg hunts with various age groups divided, photos with the Easter Bunny, music, games and more. The Egg Hunt starts at 10:30 a.m. BYO(Basket). For more information call 863-534-6911.
First Baptist Poinciana (601 Walnut St.) will hold an Easter Eggstravaganza from 2-5 p.m. This free event features a 71-foot bounce house, free food, cotton candy, snow cones, Italian ice, family games and thousands of eggs. Struggling with your weight? On April 25 at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Cesare Peragalin of HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital will present a free in-person class on weight loss surgery. If you are interested in losing weight, find out if this procedure is right for you. This weight loss surgery class will be available at the Poinciana Library (101 Doverplum Ave.). Osceola County Commissioner for District 3, Brandon Arrington, will host a drive-through Springtime Food Distribution on April 30 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church (3880 Pleasant Hill Road). Meal boxes will be distributed to the first 600 families while supplies last. Food boxes will be distributed one per car in this latest drive thru event. This event is co-sponsored by Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
